Welcome to the Hebron Elementary School webpage.  We hope that you find our site informative and invite you to give us a call if you do not find what you are looking for here.  Our school serves approximately 360 students in grades 3-6.  The intermediate elementary years are a time of tremendous learning and growth.  Students begin to use the skills they have developed over the primary years to research, explore and follow their passions.

Hebron Elementary School students benefit from a strong social emotional learning approach.  Our teachers use the Responsive Classroom approach to build classroom communities characterized by a sense of belonging, significance and joy.  Our students begin their days with a Morning Meeting where we embed direct instruction in social skills such as turn taking, making eye contact with the speaker, active listening, cooperating and simply having fun.  The Responsive Classroom approach highlights five core skills:  Cooperation, Advocacy, Respect, Empathy and Self-Control.  Each month we come together as a whole school community in a CARES Assembly to honor these skills and recognize them all around us.  Our students provide a myriad of opportunities to recognize them each day!  The Choose Love Program complements our comprehensive social emotional learning approach.  Through Choose Love we teach students about Courage, Gratitude, Forgiveness and Compassion in Action. Our Student Council, made up of sixth grade students, provides an opportunity for students to take some leadership in their school, plan school-wide activities and also prepare monthly updates to our Board of Education.

At HES, our students also benefit from a comprehensive Unified Arts program of art, instrumental and choral music, library media, STEAM, physical education and world language (Spanish) instruction.  Hebron Elementary School is a proud affiliate of the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project and our English Language Arts instruction is delivered in a workshop model where students do the work of readers and writers after thoughtful, responsive instruction in genre based units of study by our amazing classroom teachers.  Students who demonstrate accelerated readiness have the opportunity to work with our Challenge and Enrichment teacher.

In partnership with engaged and committed parents, we are honored to be entrusted with Hebron’s intermediate grade youngsters and see only Bright Futures ahead for them!
